Six Weeks 10.31.09

Six Weeks along

Well, that's it basically. We found out on 10.30 that we were 5 weeks and 6 days along. We got to see our little tadpole and see the little heartbeat fluttering away. It was an absolute miracle! It was a disappointment to hear I was so early on but still a blessing. I had been hoping for the 10 weeks our doctor guessed at. Stupid false positive pregnancy test. She wanted another ultrasound within two weeks so we go again on the 18th of November. Hopefully, we'll get a more accurate due date. They are guessing at June 26th right now but that was based on her measurement of the blob on the screen. I personally feel she measured too small. You'll see on the picture that she measured the distance between her two x's. What about all of that stuff past that lower x? Seems like there was more to it than that. Who knows. We'll certainly not have to wait a year to find out!

Nausea is getting more and more intense by the day. I miss enjoying food! Few people in the world love food the way we do! C'mon 2nd trimester!!!

We got the bedding for Christmas and the rest of the room's accessories that match for my birthday in March! I'm itching to get it washed and set up but we still have to paint.

We've been gifted a FREE CRIB!!!!!!!!!!! It needs a little touching up on a few scratches but, other than that, its barely used! We are so grateful for wonderful friends! Right now, its housing all baby stuff we have received so far.

Clea has bought us a dresser!! It is on its way. I'll take some pictures of it when it gets here! Can't wait to start putting baby things in it!!!

The nursery is cleaned out of everything non-baby and ready to be painted!!! Now the fun stuff starts!!

Riley is a two and a half year old Rottweiler-mix. She is, by far, the most affectionate dog imaginable. She touches our faces and lives on our laps (whether we want that or not) at a firm 65lbs. Since the news, she has been undergoing some training she is not happy about. No more jumping at me when I walk in the door and no more laying across my stomach. She is highly confused.

Cami is a 1 year old Boxer-mix. We bought her as a wedding gift for ourselves. We knew we would want kids in a few years and dogs can occupy their time better with two. They entertain each other. Obviously, God had different plans (earlier than expected) but Cami is sweet and loves to please. I think she'll take the training and new limitations well. She doesn't have many thoughts other than following her sister and PLAY!

They have been our whole world for so long. We're nervous about how well they will take the attention sharing. They have a hard enough time sharing us with each other. Just one more fun adventure!!

We also have two cats from my younger years. Greg is allergic so they mostly live in our basement. It's a nice place for them and they have each other. Their names are Jazz and Java. They're about 8 years old. My family were never dog people. When Greg and I got Riley, my whole perspective changed! I thought I was a cat person but MAN was I wrong. Our cats think they're dogs for the most part. They're cool!

About Me

My photo
I'm a new wife and an even newer mom. I have a secret dream to be super-mom. I love to craft, cook, dance and fill my life with as many adventures as possible. I'm slightly crunchy granola but enjoy a good steak. I'm right brained and type B (with some type A tendencies). I thrive best when I get to use my creative juices. I dabble in photography and party planning. I play piano and have a dream to learn the cello. I want to make the most of this one, short life I find myself living.

About This Blog

This blog was originally intended to be a personal journal of my pregnancy journey and all that that entails--shared with only a few close family members. It was a way for me to keep them posted on all things baby and occasionally post a picture of my growing torso so they could see the progress. After several posts, I started to get hooked on other blogs and became motivated to attempt to do more with mine. We'll see how it goes....
