Nine Weeks 11.21.2009

Nine Weeks

Not much to report. Starting to see a real bump below the belly buttom (and below the bloat). That's exciting. I have just donned my first maternity bra. Much more comfortable than I anticipated. Nausea is almost gone but I'm guessing that's because I stopped taking prenatal vitamins 4 days ago. I have been supplementing with my normal multivitamin and taking Noni Juice and Toddy Juice shots (those are packed with more vitamins and minerals than an elephant needs....apparently). I have my next appointment on Wednesday where I'll be able to hear the heartbeat and start discussing birthing options and testing. My theory is, I'm not going to consent to a dangerous test for the baby when I wouldn't terminate under any circumstances anyway. So I'm going to save myself the headache. I have an awesome support system in my home and with our families so if something is wrong, I'll have help tackeling it when it happens.

As far as baby's progress, it now has facial features. It has graduated from embryo to fetus this week!!! Heart is thrumming away (at 156 beats per minute at our last ultrasound). Brain is all in place!!

Seven Weeks 11.7.2009

Seven weeks...........bleh

Some good and bad news. Spent the whole week being entirely and incredibly sick=bad news. Discovered two days ago it was the prenatal vitamins I was on that were making me sick. Have since switched to something much better and feel like a normal pregnant woman=good news. I feel like a narcoleptic. I can't stay awake AT ALL. I woke up at 9, fell back to sleep at 12:30, woke up at 4:30, and am not preparing to go to sleep for the night at 10:30.

Greg and I are a little nervous. We'd always envisioned ourselves having boys. His family is a posse of boys for a long long time. Well, according to, I am having a girl. I know it's early but their Chinese gender calendar (which is proven to be 90% effective) says we're getting a little pink bundle. Either way, we will love the child we are blessed with but we feel better equipped to handle a boy. C'mon 10%!!!

Other than tired, things are GREAT!!!
Both brain hemispheres are now in place and developing 100 brain cells every minute. Arms and legs are now emerging and joints are starting to form. No more tadpole here!

About Me

My photo
I'm a new wife and an even newer mom. I have a secret dream to be super-mom. I love to craft, cook, dance and fill my life with as many adventures as possible. I'm slightly crunchy granola but enjoy a good steak. I'm right brained and type B (with some type A tendencies). I thrive best when I get to use my creative juices. I dabble in photography and party planning. I play piano and have a dream to learn the cello. I want to make the most of this one, short life I find myself living.

About This Blog

This blog was originally intended to be a personal journal of my pregnancy journey and all that that entails--shared with only a few close family members. It was a way for me to keep them posted on all things baby and occasionally post a picture of my growing torso so they could see the progress. After several posts, I started to get hooked on other blogs and became motivated to attempt to do more with mine. We'll see how it goes....
