an update

Hi. Life is good and busy and mysterious and hard...but mostly good. We've been hectic around here for a while and have been sick for over a month now between the 3 of us. I plan on getting back on the blogging bandwagon quite soon here. I miss it. I miss my bloggy friends. I'm hundreds of posts behind in my reader. I peeked for 5 minutes the other day and 6 of you are now pregnant! So happy and a little bit jealous. Though, the timing is not right here.

I should be going back to work within the next few days here. I got a job at a local mortgage company doing loan processing and am looking forward to having a bit of a schedule implemented in my life. I can't begin to describe how painful the thought of leaving Cole is but it is a very good job offer and now is actually really good timing. I have family who are happy and eager to get more time with Cole and it will be good for him to have more of them in his life.

Cole is a learning and growing fool. He is our constant entertainer. Even now, he is singing along with a lullaby book while playing the drums in the corner. I am working on his 1.5 year post so I will actually have it done on January 3rd. Its already been almost 6 months from his birthday. How did that happen? I still haven't unpacked the last few boxes of decorations. Though, they're rain soaked and the construction paper probably bled color all over everything so I should just toss it all.

I lost 30 lbs! I did it in a controversial way so I haven't talked about it much but I am so happy I did it. I've had hypoglycemia since the age of 7. That is so much better with the weight loss. I sleep better at night, have more energy during the day and am all around happier (death flu virus aside). It was hard but I'm proud of myself for sticking with it. I went down almost 3 pants sizes and can't wait to loose the last 30 after the holidays so I can get back into my sixes!

Anyway, I look forward to getting back into this so I can keep all of my far away friends and family in the loop. Talk to you soon!

Pumpkin Picking 2011

Today was Cole's first foray into the world of pumpkin picking! It was so darn cute! I have a sweet baby waiting for some cuddles so I'll be brief. We went with some of our best friends, the Luto's, who brought their darling baby, Evelyn. I get her a few hours on 3 different days a week so she is extremely special to me. And another set of friends/neighbors who are currently baking me a new baby boy to snuggle with come January!
Our motto is to go big or go home so we spent a long time combing the large field where you find and bring in your own pumpkin. Needless to say, my husband's nose for all things novelty scouted out the largest and most beautiful pumpkin! Thankfully we weren't in the market for a monstrosity of this size but the Luto's were elated by the find. Cole crawled, climbed, smiled, explored, flirted and in general made every single person we passed a fan. All in all, a very successful first trip to the pumpkin patch!
(I was a little too pooped to photograph well and way too tired to care about editing much. Sorry they're blown out)

Landon turns One!

This little boy was such a joy and a real ham for the camera! I can't wait to see how this little cutie turns out! Thanks to Lauren for giving me the chance to capture this precious stage of her son's life!

James Dean ~ Newborn (round 1)

My sweet little nephew was brought into this world! I love him to pieces already. He, however, does not love me in his face or especially my camera. I was not happy with any of the photos I came out with from this day because it was mostly night and I don't have the equipment to shoot at night. We're going to do a do-over in a few days and I will have more to show!

Jesse and Jess ~ Married

I was honored to photograph this gorgeous couple on their big day! It was my first time solo-shooting a wedding and they trusted me to handle it. Their confidence in me was so sweet and touching and I feel we came out with some pretty good photos. They got married on a Thursday and got shipped out the next morning to Alaska. They got married in the St. Charles Court House (I got to stand behind the judge's desk!) and they gave me 3.5 hours to walk around and get all of the photos I wanted! It was the best day. I had the best time. I am so sad I only got to know them now that they are leaving.
Jessie and Jess, thank you so much for letting me be with you on that amazing day! God truly got it right when he matched you two up! And the gift of a few rain-free hours proves it! :)
Here is a not so sneak peek to hold you over until I get the disc to you! P.S. I edited these on my laptop so the colors may be a bit off. The ones I send to you will be better.

About Me

My photo
I'm a new wife and an even newer mom. I have a secret dream to be super-mom. I love to craft, cook, dance and fill my life with as many adventures as possible. I'm slightly crunchy granola but enjoy a good steak. I'm right brained and type B (with some type A tendencies). I thrive best when I get to use my creative juices. I dabble in photography and party planning. I play piano and have a dream to learn the cello. I want to make the most of this one, short life I find myself living.

About This Blog

This blog was originally intended to be a personal journal of my pregnancy journey and all that that entails--shared with only a few close family members. It was a way for me to keep them posted on all things baby and occasionally post a picture of my growing torso so they could see the progress. After several posts, I started to get hooked on other blogs and became motivated to attempt to do more with mine. We'll see how it goes....
