5 weeks with #2

5 weeks ~ baby #2

Major bloat already.

(totally stole this from Pinterest but I skipped lots of photos last time because I didn't have makeup on or my hair wasn't clean/done. This way, none of that matters but the pic still gets taken! Thank God for sliding glass doors in my dining room. Love the light!)

How far along: 5 weeks

How big is baby: A Sesame Seed. Baby Center's info on development at 5 weeks

Weight gain/loss: A little loss but not sure yet

Stretch marks: None yet this time. But, I'm sure they'll come.

Sleep: Vivid dreams started already leaving me feeling unrested when I wake. Frequent peeing (5-7 times no joke) doesn't help.

Diet/Cravings/Aversions: Salt, Salt and Salt. Salsa, Pickles, Hot Sauce (almost ate a jar of enchilada sauce straight out of jar).

Movement: None yet. I felt Cole earlier than the average woman does at 12 weeks. I was a lot thinner then tho but I've also had a kid already and know what to look for so it could go either way.

What I'm worrying about: The frequent cramping and random sharp pains. I had some leftovers from implantation that showed up Christmas Eve a.m. that freaked me out but it was textbook 1 week later type stuff. Also trying to remember everything I can and can't do and can't eat. Also, I'm really anxious to tell our family. We're waiting a few more weeks til my first appointment and for me to order the stuff I need to make the reveal cute and memorable. I just SUCK at keeping something like this a secret. I'm awful with surprises because  my face is an open book. I HATE HATE HATE lying and I have to on this one. I'm obviously sick and weak so I'm just trying to lay low. Christmas was hard because I was nauseated and kept dozing off. I'm sure the women in our family have their suspicions.

What I'm loving: Thinking about the little baby that will be here soon! Tiny clothes. Tiny diapers. I can't wait to see Cole interact with this little thing. I'm also loving that I am pretty sure this is a boy too so we're already prepared with everything we need. Its identical to the pregnancy with Cole down to the family genetics tell which is feeling so cold at times that only a scalding shower can reassure me I'm not actually dead. I had it last time. My mom had it only with the 1 boy out of 4 children. My sister with the boy had it. My sister with the girl didn't. It just keeps going up the tree. We'll see though. I'd be ecstatic regardless but I always pictured our second child as a boy and Greg's genetics back that up.

Symptoms: Nausea when I'm hungry. Sore boobs. Difficulty wearing contacts. Runny nose. Insanely, deathly cold most of the time. Peeing non-stop (all of which are happening at the exact same time as last time). Just feeling pregnant!

What I'm looking forward to: Our first appointment at the end of January! Hopefully we can sneak in an ultrasound to confirm the due date and see little one's heart fluttering!

Best moment of the week: Cole saying at random times that there is "a baby in the tummy" and telling people it was because his Aunt Stephanie (my great friend) is 29 weeks pregnant and we were telling him there was a baby in her tummy the night before Christmas.

About Me

My photo
I'm a new wife and an even newer mom. I have a secret dream to be super-mom. I love to craft, cook, dance and fill my life with as many adventures as possible. I'm slightly crunchy granola but enjoy a good steak. I'm right brained and type B (with some type A tendencies). I thrive best when I get to use my creative juices. I dabble in photography and party planning. I play piano and have a dream to learn the cello. I want to make the most of this one, short life I find myself living.

About This Blog

This blog was originally intended to be a personal journal of my pregnancy journey and all that that entails--shared with only a few close family members. It was a way for me to keep them posted on all things baby and occasionally post a picture of my growing torso so they could see the progress. After several posts, I started to get hooked on other blogs and became motivated to attempt to do more with mine. We'll see how it goes....
