13 weeks with #2

How far along:  13 weeks

How big is baby:    3 inches long (the size of a large shrimp)

Weight gain/loss:    loss...pushing 8 lbs

Sleep:    no change

Diet/Cravings/Aversions:    bleh...maybe sweets and fruit

Movement:    flutters

What I'm worrying about:    The 4 day/11 hour home show I have to work this weekend for our company. That is a lot of time on  my feet.

What I'm loving:    The leftover soup from the "Winter Warm-up" my family has every year in February just to get together. Everyone brings their own crockpot with a soup or stew. We usually have 12+ types of soup. A lot of them had red meat or something else I have to leave the room for right now but I did get some leftovers to bring home that I love.

Symptoms:    nausea more often than not

12 weeks with #2

How far along:  12 weeks

How big is baby:   Just over 2 inches long (the size of a lime)

Weight gain/loss:    loss.. not sure how much but over 5

Sleep:    eh, good at first, up for a while in the middle, best when the sun rises....go figure. Luckily Cole will happily sleep til 11 so I get a few hours in there.

Diet/Cravings/Aversions:    blueberry muffins seem delicious right now. And chili cheese fritos. And lots and lots of fresh fruit. Can't always eat them but I dream about them.

Movement:    flutters

What I'm worrying about:    not much

What I'm loving:    flutters and that Cole got a completely healthy report on the heart murmur. It is completely harmless and should clear up on its own by age 4!!!!!!!!!!!!

Symptoms:    still can't wear contacts, rough sleep, frequent peeing, nausea on and off.

What I'm looking forward to:   Hanging with my good friend Dallas who has been on bedrest since 28 weeks due to preterm labor. She's stuck at home so I'm taking bad for us food over and watching a chick flick marathon.

Best moment of the week:    Well, not sure if its the best but I'm happy about what I got to see at the new Birthing Center that just opened up by our house. I loved the atmosphere and the midwives. I feel happy with this decision but Greg is pretty scarred and is hesitant to be anywhere but a hospital again. Lots to think and pray about.

Recent pics of my sweet little new nephew (I was dubbed Aunt Valerie!!!). Getting reconnected with his mother has been so wonderful. The timing was perfect! I am just one happy lady! Thanks for the time I got to spend with your beautiful family and I love you all to pieces!!

11 weeks with baby #2

How far along: 11 weeks

How big is baby:  1.5 inches long (about the size of a fig)

Weight gain/loss:  loss...not sure how much

Sleep:   BBWWHHAHHAHA!!! I did get a little sleep last night without tylenol PM for the first time.

Diet/Cravings/Aversions:  puke (not craving it...just do it when I think about food)

Movement:  believe it or not, there are little flutters. I felt Cole at 12 weeks thanks to my insanely forward tilting uterus and my athletic history.

What I'm worrying about:  when will I stop being sick. Also, Cole has had fevers between 105-106 in the last couple of days. We spent all night in the hospital and the best answer they could give us was some kind of viral infection. We've been dosing every other hour with tylenol/motrin on rotation per the Dr's orders. There has been lots of popsicles and cool baths in our home. But he is so sweet and resilient you would never know if you didn't touch him.

What I'm loving:  the 5 gallon bucket of pickles I got down at the produce market for that moment when I am no longer sick. I have eaten a little here and there and it stayed down!! They are the best pickles around. The kind you buy on a stick at theme parks. I absolutely love them and have only ever bought these buckets a few times in my life. I'm keeping it in my fridge at work since I'm the only one there and its basically empty.
Also, I begged Greg to buy me a Costco cake (the kind with the cream cheese mousse filling) that I have been slowly making my way through. BTW, craved nothing like that with Cole so who knows!!

Symptoms:  puke

What I'm looking forward to: getting a healthy result from Cole's ultrasound later this week. He has a heart murmur that we're going down to Children's Hospital to get checked out.

About Me

My photo
I'm a new wife and an even newer mom. I have a secret dream to be super-mom. I love to craft, cook, dance and fill my life with as many adventures as possible. I'm slightly crunchy granola but enjoy a good steak. I'm right brained and type B (with some type A tendencies). I thrive best when I get to use my creative juices. I dabble in photography and party planning. I play piano and have a dream to learn the cello. I want to make the most of this one, short life I find myself living.

About This Blog

This blog was originally intended to be a personal journal of my pregnancy journey and all that that entails--shared with only a few close family members. It was a way for me to keep them posted on all things baby and occasionally post a picture of my growing torso so they could see the progress. After several posts, I started to get hooked on other blogs and became motivated to attempt to do more with mine. We'll see how it goes....
