This month, we got to bring home our sweet baby girl. We got to introduce her to her brother, her puppies and show her the home we've built. I've had the best time dressing up my little doll and soaking in that fresh baby smell we all know and love. She loves to be held and is lulled into the best sleep she gets when she is cuddling close. She sleeps part-time in her rock'n'play by my bed and the rest of it on my pillow cheek-to-cheek with me. She sleeps best that way during the night. Her longest stretch was 3 hours which she usually does every single night for the first part. Then she nurses/dozes on and off for the rest of the night.

She has the same sensitive stomach that Cole had meaning I can't eat dairy, tomatoes, most veggies, chocolate or caffeine without her crying constantly. She hasn't had a single time this whole month where she was awake and not crying or eating for more than just a few minutes. She cries almost the whole time she is awake and is frequently awakened by rumblings in her stomach.... And this is all with me eating carefully. Fingers crossed it doesn't last as long as Cole's sensitive stomach did.

Her cord fell off after just a few days so she got her first bath on day 6. We didn't have them bathe her in the hospital since we left so early and I believe in the beneficial properties of leaving the vernix on longer.

Needless to say.... she DIDN'T like it.

This is a home-made knock off of a photo I saw on Pinterest but I thought it was sweet. I love her little hands and feet. All of her is so tiny and adorable. SO MUCH LOVE HERE!!!!

She has a very hard time getting gas and #2's out and, funnily enough, she makes the exact same face Cole did/does when she goes. We won't start cloth diapering til next month.

She has her daddy's blue eyes still and I'm keeping up hopes that they will stick around. I'd love to have one kid with Greg's eyes since Cole has mine. (And we're happy being a family of 4 so its all up to you, Heidi).

Dear Heidi,

Thank you so much for making such a beautiful and miraculous arrival into this world. You made things so easy and healing for me. I have loved every single second with you. I'm sad you spend so much time with tummy troubles but I'm working and researching constantly to try to help. The way you look at me makes me so proud and grateful that I get to keep you forever. God truly knew what he was doing when he gave me a girl because we were meant to be. Your sweet nature and personality shows through so clearly and if you weren't in pain, you would be the happiest baby alive.
I love taking care of you and, though I'm in no hurry to rush anything, I'm so excited to spend my life loving you! Thank you for being mine, my angel!
With all of the love in my heart,
Mommy

About Me

My photo
I'm a new wife and an even newer mom. I have a secret dream to be super-mom. I love to craft, cook, dance and fill my life with as many adventures as possible. I'm slightly crunchy granola but enjoy a good steak. I'm right brained and type B (with some type A tendencies). I thrive best when I get to use my creative juices. I dabble in photography and party planning. I play piano and have a dream to learn the cello. I want to make the most of this one, short life I find myself living.

About This Blog

This blog was originally intended to be a personal journal of my pregnancy journey and all that that entails--shared with only a few close family members. It was a way for me to keep them posted on all things baby and occasionally post a picture of my growing torso so they could see the progress. After several posts, I started to get hooked on other blogs and became motivated to attempt to do more with mine. We'll see how it goes....
